Family Heirloom Films : NOW AVAILABLE : Santa Rosa Beach and 30A

The funny thing about people of the creative mind, is that we always have a thirst to learn new things and express our creativity in different ways that keeps up inspired. Over the last 4 years I have had the fortune of my best friend being a Wedding Videographer. I have watched her create beautiful wedding films that will make you cry happy tears for people you don't even know because she can tell the story of a wedding day through film so beautifully.

One thing I love about our friendship, is that we can meet up for lunch to talk about our weekend plans or share the kind of stories that best gal pals share with each other, but by the end of lunch we are brainstorming new business ideas, we are advising each other on how to be more successful, or on how to keep motivated during our creative lulls. Friendships don't come along like this everyday.  During a lunch with her one day tossing around some new ideas, we both had a light bulb moment, and right there my new passion was born and some in depth mentoring began to take place for me to craft the new skill I would need. Right there, the idea of Family Heirloom Films was created. I love capturing families during a beautiful sunset at the beach in photos while they visit for vacation, but there is also a bigger story to tell. What about the moments the kids are splashing in the water, covered in sand,  or chasing their sibling along the water line and laughing so hard it hurts? What about the way they say "I love you" when they run to give you a hug and their little arms wrap around your neck. These moments as we imagine them are in motion.  These moments are not frozen in a picture. Family Heirloom Films provide a creative way to make these memories into a beautiful time capsule you can watch (and hear) over and over again.

Not everybody has the same story to tell, a Family Heirloom Film can range from many different milestones, like a child's adoption or the birth of a new baby, I casual day in your home to show your everyday life, a day at the park, all sandy at the beach on vacation, or all dressy at the beach. No family is the same, and my role is to help you create the truest reflection of the story you want to have created into the most beautiful home video you will ever have.

Be sure to watch below the video of my sweet friend Avis, and her little family. Honest to goodness, I would put these little babies in my pocket if I could, they are so adorable!  CLICK HERE for more samples of work and information about the investment of your Family Heirloom Film.

Alice and Duvall : 30A Wedding : Villa Rosa in Blue Mountain Beach : South Walton Wedding Photographer

Alice and Duvall's wedding is one that stands out from my Fall 2017 season! Each time I go to post more pictures about it on social media, I ask myself why the heck I didn't blog about it! Alice was so beautiful in her laced back wedding dress and Duvall was a genuine southern gentleman dressed to the nines in his wedding attire.  The beach in Blue Mountain on 30A is South Walton, Florida provided a white sandy beach and an emerald water backdrop for their "I do" moment. Their wooden cross at their alter was hand crafted by family solely to provide for this moment, that is sure to be cherished a lifetime. I swoon at so many images, Alice and her mom embracing, Dad's first look, their black lab puppy as one of their groomsman, their dreamy sunset portraits, and an elegant cake set on it's on stage...seriously this wedding was a show stopper. Villa Rosa, a magnificent vacation home rental in Blue Mountain Beach held the reception complete with a live band, a romantically lite swimming pool and a gazebo specially filled with an Oyster bar, not to mention more than enough space for 100+ guests.

Alice nd Duvall, you were one of my sweetest couples from 2017 and I love watching your family grow already! I hope your wedding day was everything you ever dreamed of and that your love lasts a lifetime to come! Thank you for trusting in me to capture your wedding day!

Alys Beach Wedding : Ruth and Murray : 30A : Santa Rosa Beach

This beautiful Alys Beach wedding for Ruth and Murray had a whimsical feel with the natural decor elements they chose. They had a wonderful group of friends and family who traveled to 30A's beaches to help them celebrate.  Their reception was held on the Fonville Press lawn where it was transformed for an elegant dinner followed by a busy dance floor. This group sure knew how to let loose and have fun! Congratulations to the two of you!

30A Seaside Beach Proposal : Mason and Amy : South Walton, Florida

I love when I get these calls for a proposal session! I can feel the excitement (and nerves) in the plan the guy is making. Some plans are elaborate, some are simple, some contain multiple surprises. Mason made his proposal very romantic. Mason called upon Seaside Homeowners Collection, a rental management company who also offers great concierge services. They set up a very sweet beach picnic right out in front of one of the iconic beach pavilions on Seaside Beach, complete with a cheese and seafood spread, a bottle of red wine and a candle lit heart in the sand. Amy was so surprised by the picnic but she had no idea what was coming up next. She also had no idea that a photographer was taking pictures of them paparazzi style. I'd like to think I have some stealth moves, but really, I think they were just so in the moment she didn't care what was happening around her.

The sunset was forming perfectly as the couple cuddled up to watch. It didn't take long before Mason got on one knee to pop the question! I am sure the seconds felt like minutes as he gathered his words to say! Needless to say Amy was very surprised and she said yes!

Once the moment was taken in and Amy realized this wasn't a dream we got to have an awesome portrait session to follow. The sunset remained amazing and the smiles were endless! Thank you Mason, for trusting in me to be there to capture this moment for you! It was so fun to be there and see your love story begin!

High School Sweethearts : Matt & Kayla: Henderson Beach : Destin Florida

Matt and Kayla are a couple to remember! Matt came to me a few months ago looking to surprise his wife.........well let me have him tell you his story! I felt he could better explain their love and his reason for the session better than I could.  So here is Matt's experience in his own words.  :)  Don't forget to check out all of their images from their session below!

Thank you Matt for sharing your time with me and the praises you are singing! I work very hard to give this caliber of service you explained so thank you for acknowledging it!

Matt's Story:

Love stories come in all different shapes and sizes. Some are simple, and others are more complex. But they all share one thing in common: They are all beautiful.

Kayla and I first met our sophomore year of high school and from the very moment our eyes met, we knew we had discovered something special. The feeling in our hearts was like nothing we’ve ever felt before. We knew it was true love, despite others telling us otherwise. Over these past 9 years we’ve grown in so many ways together. We have faced many challenges, but we always stuck together, side by side, hand in hand. After all, isn’t that what love is all about?

Our sixth year wedding anniversary was rapidly approaching, and soon we would be on a flight down to our usual vacation destination, Destin, FL. Over the course of our six years together, Destin became a very special place to us. It became “the spot” we would go every April for our anniversary /vacation. But I wanted to go the extra mile this year. I found myself racking my brain trying to find the perfect “surprise” for Kayla. I wanted it to stand out over all the other trips. I wanted it to be the most memorable.

After hours upon hours of “googling”, the light bulb finally went off.  We have never had professional images done of us.  I remember thinking to myself, how cute would it be if we had them done in our favorite place.

I was filled with excitement; I immediately began to search for photographers in the Destin area. I contacted about six or seven photographers whose style looked appealing to me. Once I received responses from all of them, the choice was obvious. Ashley stuck out like a sore thumb. Her initial response was energetic, and filled with just as much excitement as my e-Mail. She made me so excited for it, I couldn’t contain myself any longer, and I had to break the news to Kayla.
That evening I told Kayla I booked a photographer for a sunset session on the beach in Destin, she lit up with so much joy. The excitement for our trip from that point on really was magnified significantly.

I immediately began bombarding Ashley with questions as fast as they popped in my head.  I wanted everything to be perfect and just right for our session. One of the most memorable experiences throughout the whole process was the outfit shopping, and trying to coordinate our colors. I remember sending pictures after pictures to Ashley. She was awesome and very honest with advice. Although it took us awhile, we nailed down our outfits.

The day of the session finally came, and everything was perfect. The sunset and the colors that filled the sky were breathtaking. The session itself was filled with laughter, excitement, and smiles. It was 45 minutes of pure FUN.  At one point, we were all singing the same tune, literally. Ashley even showed us some new dance moves, and taught me “the man hand.”  There were just too many memories made during the session that we will look back at and laugh about. It was the highlight of our vacation.

After the session, we very patiently waited to see our images. We were filled with excitement and anticipation. She got them back to us in a timely manner, and they turned out beautiful. The best pictures we have ever taken together literally. We spent hours that evening trying to decide which ones we liked best. There were just too many to choose from, that’s how you know you picked the perfect photographer. She certainly didn’t make it easy for us.

Ashley is super fun, and filled with excitement. She is honest and upfront about any advice, or suggestions.  She is super personable and easy to work with. She made the whole process from booking the session to ordering the prints seamless. I am so thankful we chose her as our photographer. Her passion for her work shines through an e-Mail, just as much as it does in person. We truly enjoyed our time together, and we will be using her services again in the future.  Our session was filled with many memories that we will never forget. Every time we look at our images from this point forward, we will always smile, laugh and remember the amazing time we had during our session.

Ian and Kayla tie the knot : 30A Beach Wedding : The Bay on 331

Ian and Kayla's wedding day was one to remember. From the moment I met the sweet couple I could tell they had a classic style. Even though it was a beach wedding they avoided the coastal style and it was absolutely beautiful! The weather was perfect for a beach ceremony and the reception venue at The Bay on 331 was very romantic. The rustic details and colors flowed wonderfully with Kayla and Ian's style and the vibe of the entire evening. Probably the coolest part of the night was that Ian's dad has been in a band for years and they were the entertainment for the night! They really brought the celebration to life and made it that much more personal for the sweet couple!

A few of my favorite people : Family Portraits : Tops'l State Park on 30A

Last month Emily and Michael and their full of life little girl came to visit me in Florida. A visit I had been anxiously waiting for most of the year.   Emily made it very clear to me that she did not care what we did while she visited that just being together was enough.  But the one MUST was for me to take her family portraits.
